Fabric scraps, old T-shirts—you’ve been saving them for something, and now that something is here. Artist-in-Residence Vanessa Andrew‘s fiber practice promotes self-sufficiency and slow, conscious consumerism through re-purposing recycled fabrics into creative, useful sewn objects.
Wacky Sewing is a process in which you attach many small and odd-shaped fabric scraps to a large base using creative cutting, folding, and stitching techniques. Use Andrew’s hand-drawn instructions to help guide you or watch her short video to learn the steps.
