Half-Portraits with Kristopher Pollard

  • by

During our Thursday, August 3 Levitt AMP Sheboygan Music Series Concert, artist Kristopher Pollard invited the public to pick up a pen or pencil and draw a half-faced self-portrait. Pollard brought some of his own half-portrait drawings from home, and community members were instructed to either finish a portrait or start a new one for someone else to finish. This project was a great way of showcasing connection and diversity in the community.

Below is short clip sharing a few of the faces continuing to mix and match.

Want to do this project at home? It’s simple!
1. Get a few pieces of paper and some drawing tools. Anything will work.
2. Fold the papers in half.
3. On the top half, have the first person draw from the top of their head to their nose. Then pass the paper to someone else.
4. The next person will continue drawing on the second half of the paper starting from under their nose to the top of their shoulders.
